|!||It seems that this happens when the OCS server is not directly addressed, but only via a "webcache"
From a OCS user, we've got the following information:
The configuration of Webcache (Out of the box) does not allow SyncServer to work in SSL re-using the SSL port of Webcache
The solution for the moment is to tell webcache to route all /ocst-bin/ traffic (this is the SyncServer URL) to the Apache SSL port, regardless the protocol or the port being used. When placing this line in 1st position in the Webcache rules, it will be picked up and the traffic will be transferred in HTTPS from Webcache to Apache as expected.
